Josie Natori’s Spring 2025 Collection Celebrates the Art of Japonisme
Josie Natori’s spring 2025 collection was a celebration of the art of Japonisme — the movement in Japanese artistry that was influenced by 19th century Western European artists.
This inspiration came through the designer’s balance of Eastern and Western inspirations. A three-dimensional origami-style flower was a focal detail throughout, featured on tops, dresses and accessories that gave the classic and mature styles a youthful flair.

The floral motif was also seen through various textures and design details. Standouts included kimono-style tops embroidered with a floral pattern, T-shirt-style dresses with petal-like hems and white lace dresses with florals embedded in the pattern.
“I’ve always had a deep affinity for Japonisme,” Natori said. “With spring 2025, I’m excited to showcase its influence through modern, sculptural shapes crafted with Natori artisanship.”
The collection focused on silhouettes and craft rather than details and prints, in line with Natori’s sleek and classic house codes. There was an array of sheath, shift and A-line dresses in varying lengths, kimono-style tops and structured skirts with an interesting asymmetric detail.
The designer added a jolt of energy with a candy-colored color palette. Many styles came in several colors like lime green, lavender, light blue and fuchsia and there were several watercolor-style prints that took inspiration from Japanese landscapes. The majority of the collection was grounded in an earthy green hue.
Overall the collection showed the designer’s understanding of her customer and how to update core silhouettes in fresh ways.
