Josie Gibson breaks silence on Stephen Mulhern 'romance' in first interview
I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star Josie Gibson has broken her silence on speculation she's dating Stephen Mulhern after they were pictured holding hands.
TV favourites Stephen Mulhern and Josie Gibson set the rumour mill spinning after they were seen looking close outside ITV's London television studio.
The duo were there to film the last ever episode of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, and they were pictured holding hands as they strolled outside on Saturday, 13 April.
But in an exclusive interview with OK! Josie has set the record straight, telling us that while she does 'love' the Catchphrase presenter, they are actually just friends.
When we asked her about the photo she told us: "Stephen? Oh, he’s so lovely. We are really good friends, I really adore him, but there’s no romance in the air.
"But he’s so nice. Every bloke that I come in contact with, the press seems to think that I’m having it off with them. People must think I’m a right goer. I’m not like that."
The single mum of one explained that it would take more than just holding hands for her to form an intimate connection.
She added: "To be with somebody or to even kiss somebody, I’ve really got to love them. I’ve really got to really be into them.
"I can’t give my energy over when I’m not completely into it. You know when you get that magic connection?
"For me it only comes around like once every seven years or eight years. I love the love because those are very, very special [moments] when you find them."
The TV personality also revealed to us that it's hard to ever feel lovely, when she feels so fulfilled being mum to five-year-old son Reggie.
She added: "To be honest, since I’ve had him, I don’t suffer from that loneliness.
"I don’t really ever get lonely and that’s probably why it’s stopped me from finding somebody or dating anyone.
"He’s just filled a gap, like he’s filled a hole – something that I’ve always wanted."
Josie was speaking to OK! about joining forces her little one Reggie to help highlight a dairy deficit in kids’ diets, in a campaign with Yoplait.
She explained: "Then they did a bit of research and they found that more kids than ever are going to the sweets and the biscuits and the chocolate.
"So we put this campaign out there to try to get them back on the yoghurts again, where you know they’re getting their vitamin D and calcium."
Josie Gibson and her son Reggie are on a mission with Yoplait to get kids eating more yoghurt again as research shows children are swapping yoghurt for more sugary goods such as biscuits and sweets
