Jonathan Anderson Puts the Infinite Possibility of Knits on Display for JW Anderson Fall 2024

For his namesake label's Fall 2024 collection, Jonathan Anderson translates his playful approach to design into an exploration of the infinite possibility of knits.

Last season, JW Anderson presented a line of bright, molded looks meant to evoke doll clothes. The brand's now going in a softer direction, playing with a variety of knit techniques: The autumnal London Fashion Week runway opened with a pillow-y chartreuse dress, boasting oversized tufts of yarn, followed by a slim-fitting dark blue pointelle set.

Knitwear is the throughline for fall, though JW Anderson experiments with different colors, proportions, textures and techniques, resulting in everything from corseted ballooned dresses to sporty velvet sets to thick polo dresses. Even within this more experimental approach to fashion, the brand's also concerned with practicality, showcasing more traditional wardrobe staples with a twist: Wool coats are cartoonishly oversized, belted blouses have too-long sleeves, sweaters bundle up and wrap around the waist.
