This John Lewis Christmas hamper has a guaranteed 'wow factor'
What's not to love about a John Lewis Christmas hamper? Full of sweet and savoury treats, luxury teas and bottles of booze, they're the perfect gift for someone who has everything and we've just spotted the latest fabulous offering from John Lewis.
The department store recently unveiled its new luxury hamper called the Spirit of Christmas and we think it's a winner.
A real crowd-pleaser, inside there's something for everyone to enjoy and share among loved ones over the festive season.
Beautifully packaged in a wicker basket, it contains a selection of traditional treats, including mince pies, chutney, biscuits and a Christmas pudding – that's dessert sorted for the big day.
Why we rate it
Costing £100, there are 13 items in total to enjoy, including three bottle of booze: Prosecco, mulled wine and a Chilean Merlot.
If you're struggling to know what to buy a hard-to-choose-for friend or relative, this gift is thoughtful but also guaranteed not to end up their 're-gift elsewhere' pile!
While of course it's not the cheapest gift you could give, we think it's great value – by comparison, Fortnum & Mason's Christmas Day Hamper would set you back a whopping £500.
If you're already getting daunted by your Christmas to-do list, rest assured, there's no need to wrap it. As soon as you get your hands on one, it's ready to be given to your lucky recipient. Win-win if you're time-poor.
What the reviews say
Given it's very new, there aren't a huge amount of reviews on the John Lewis' website yet, but of the handful that have been written by shoppers, most have awarded it a five-star rating.
Here's what some of them had to say:
"Everything is presented beautifully and all the products are tasty and fantastic quality. What is also nice is that there are different brands of products, giving the basket more of a handmade feel than if it was full of more basic brands, or just one or two brands. A bonus is that the basket is lovely and really sturdy, so will be fabulous for storage."
"I am not a wine connoisseur, but all three bottles tasted very nice to me, with my favourite being the mulled wine paired with the mince pies – what more could anyone want to get into the festive spirit? Overall I would say this hamper as a Christmas treat provides great value for money, as each of the items is of a high/luxurious standard, and there really is a bit of something for everyone."
"A varied hamper with something for everyone although no non-alcohol drink option. The cheddar biscuits were particularly delicious and lots of sweet treats to have on the days in the run up to Christmas. The basket is very good quality and can re-used."
