John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have welcomed their baby

Congratulations are in order for John Legend and Chrissy Teigen who welcomed their baby on Friday 13 January.

Sharing the news with his fans, John told the crowd at a private concert later that night that the "little baby" had arrived that morning. "What a blessed day," he said.

During the concert, the singer admitted that while he "didn't get a lot of sleep", he "feels energised" after spending "a lot of time" at the hospital.

It wasn't long before fans took to social media to share the announcement, with one concert go-er writing on Twitter: "@johnlegend just told us he had a baby this morning #congratulations".

Neither John or Chrissy – who previously suffered a heartbreaking pregnancy loss – have posted on their own socials about the birth of their baby, but it's safe to assume they have their hands full at the moment.

Previously speaking to People about the pregnancy, John revealed that the two children he shares with Chrissy – six-year-old Luna and four-year-old Miles – were "really excited".

"My kids are old enough to really be aware of what's happening," he said. "So they're really anticipating having a new sibling in their lives. And I think they'll be good at being a big sister and big brother."

Similarly, Chrissy added: "They've been excited for a long time. I feel like this is going to be the longest pregnancy to them because they've known since the day. But they've been really very excited."

Congratulations you guys!
