Comedy star John Bishop took aim at a Leeds United fan during a recent stand-up show in York.

A clip has been circulating on social media where Liverpool supporter John, 58, wasn’t best impressed to see a Whites fan on the front row. John, in jest, turned on the fan called Ian wearing a Leeds United shirt.

During his appearance at York Barbican, John said: “That’s a Leeds United shirt!”

Before he added: “Ian, I’ll be honest. I’ve got off at the station. I came on a train. I got off at York and I walked to the hotel.

“And, as soon as you arrive in York, it is a wonderful place. You see all the Roman walls and you think this is a place of culture.

“This is the jewel of the north. This is a place where people come to realise what British heritage is about. I’ll be honest with you, Ian. If I’d have got off and saw you in your shorts, your Leeds shirt and your little woolly hat I might have got back on the f**king train.

“You literally look like you should be in Benidorm.”
