Joanna Scanlan looks chic at the Chelsea Flower Show

Joanna Scanlan made an appearance today (22 May) at the Chelsea Flower Show, for the event's press day.

The actress, perhaps best known for her roles in The Thick Of It and After Love (for which she won a prestigious BAFTA Award), looked stylish and laid back in a blue sheer shirt as she posed for a photograph, clutching the RHS event guide. With a tan suede jacket over the top of her shirt, the star paired her blue top with matching trousers, and white trainers. She wore her hair in a relaxed style, and carried a leather tote bag along with her cross body handbag — possibly for gardening goodies that she will pick up throughout the day!

Also in attendance at this year's show are fellow actresses Dame Judi Dench, Imelda Staunton and Dame Joanna Lumley, who was spotted in the Great Pavillion and out exploring the gardens, including Horatio's Garden designed by Charlotte Harris and Hugo Bugg.

On Friday (26 May), the Friday Chelsea Late event takes place, from 5.30pm until 10pm, for a special evening. Big fans of the event will want to make sure they're around on Saturday, as selling off of displays begins at 4pm.
