Jimmy Carr drops big hint that he’s secretly become a dad for a second time

Jimmy Carr appeared to confirm that he is now a dad-of-two in his recently released Netflix special Jimmy Carr: Natural Born Killer. The comedian, 51, has been in a relationship with Channel 5 exec Karoline Copping since 2001, and they are believed to have welcomed their first child, son Rockefeller, in 2019.

It now seems the couple may have expanded their brood further, with Jimmy telling his audience: "I'm a father now. I had kids, I'm a dad," seemingly referencing more than one "kid". OK! have contacted representatives for Jimmy Carr for comment.

This isn't the first time Jimmy has revealed that he's a father during a stand-up set having done similar during a gig in 2021, two years after his son's birth.

At that time his announcement came after her had been photographed pushing a pram on several occasions the previous year. The Sun reported he had brought up his little boy during a joke about adoption while on stage at the O2 Academy in Brixton.

"I had to tell my little boy he's adopted. I mean, he isn't, but the look on his face," the star quipped to a snickering audience. "I said, 'No, no, no, you were adopted, the new family is picking you up tomorrow.'"

He also teased that he and Karoline, whom he has been with since 2001 after they met at an audition, are going to have a gender reveal party for their son when he's "21 just to be sure".

"With some babies you can't tell, is it a boy or an ugly girl?" he chuckled.

After sharing the news that he was a father, Jimmy told the Radio Times: "It could be a bit of a gear shift, because of the kind of comedy I do. But so far, I'm still telling the same jokes, I've got the same sense of humour."

"We'll see, because I'm sure I'm going to be writing a lot of material about him." The star then joked his son might be "tax-deductible" as he referenced an investigation by The Times in June 2012 that brought to light his involvement in an alleged K2 tax avoidance scheme.

He also explained his choice of name, revealing that he and Karoline were inspired by American businessman John D. Rockefeller when they decided to call their son Rockefeller. The 8 Out Of 10 Cats host also shared his son's name was partly as a result of his love for US funny-man Chris Rock too, whom he labelled the "greatest ever comedian".
