Jessica Simpson Combined Two Major Trends in Her Red-Hot, Goth-Glam Grammys Dress
And she had a sweet sister moment with Ashlee.
The 2024 Grammys were a feast for the eyes (and ears) between the star-studded guest list, impressive performances (looking at you Miley Cyrus), and a parade of show-stopping red carpet looks. While some of music's biggest names were congregating in the Crypto.com arena, dozens of other stars were heading to viewing and after- parties — including Jessica Simpson, who looked fiery in a bright red goth-glam gown.
On Sunday night, the singer and fashion mogul arrived at the Hollywood Palladium for the Jam for Janie viewing party presented by Live Nation. For the occasion, Simpson sported a crimson-colored column gown with lace sleeves, a high neckline, and a large chest cutout. The same sheer fabric lined the frock's bustier-style top and studded hip cutouts.
In terms of accessories, Simpson added a silver bedazzled cross necklace to match the dress's emo aesthetic and a smattering of coordinating chunky rings. She finished off the look with a long shimmering silver manicure, a black smoky eye, and a glossy beige lip. Her blonde hair was styled in a middle part with beachy waves.

Her younger sis, Ashlee Simpson, and her husband Evan Ross joined Jessica at the event. The sisters posed for photos together once inside, and Jessica even snuck into a picture with Ashlee and Ross.
For her part, Ashlee took a different approach to the gothcore trend in a shimmery black high-neck gown with exposed seams and a mermaid-style skirt. Her red hair was pulled into a top-knot, save for a few face-framing strands. Her jewelry also coordinated with Jessica's and included silver cross dangly earrings.
Although the sisters weren't nominated for any awards at tonight's ceremony, Jessica recently teased new music in an interview with E!. "I'm not nervous at all, but if you were to ask me two years ago when I was talking about coming back to music, I was frightened," she said in August. "But now, I know exactly what I want."
"I'm building my own platform," she continued. "I'm doing it for the first time — the way I would — without a label telling me I need to do this song or use this producer. It's all me."
Ashlee also hinted at the possibility of new music in an interview with Pop Sugar. She said that her daughter Jagger's love of her old records is giving her the "itch" to return to the studio. "I'm inspired that my daughter is so inspired by my old albums," she said. "I have the itch and I'm very ready,"
