Jessica Chastain looks unrecognisable after platinum blonde hair transformation at the Met Gala
The 2023 Met Gala has been full of surprises. I mean, between Florence Pugh's shaved head and Emily Ratajkowski's new micro-fringe, it's almost too much. Another hair transformation we didn't see coming? Jessica Chastain – AKA, the real-life Jessica Rabbit – switching up her signature red locks for a platinum blonde hair transformation. Seriously, you couldn't make this up.
We can't remember a time when the actress wasn't a redhead, but as timings go, Jessica picked the prime event to debut the new look. While you might have thought the redhead would subtly make her way into the world of blonde, she's instead dived head first and chosen an icy-blonde shade. Jessica, we almost didn't recognise you.
It seems everyone (and we really mean everyone) is entering their Barbiecore era in 2023.
Hairstylist, Renato Campora, was seen prepping the new platinum strands backstage earlier in the day with Sisley's Hair Rituel Restructuring Nourishing Balm for Hair Lengths and Ends, £79.90, to smooth the blonde strands.
As for makeup, the new 'do was paired with a glowy base and smokey eye by makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle. To create the look, Buckle used Charlotte Tilbury's Beautiful Skin Foundation and Hollywood Glow Glide Highlighter. When it comes to glow, the limit really doesn't exist.
This is where we say the bad news, Jessica later confirmed the hair transformation was indeed, just a wig. In response to the new look, the actress said: "It's not forever, it's for Karl".
We appreciate the dedication to the theme, but we can't help but wish this platinum blonde Jessica Chastain was here to stay.
