Jessica Chastain is parting ways with her stylish New York City apartment!

The Mother’s Instinct actress’ opulent apartment — which she originally purchased in 2015 and is located in the heart of Manhattan — was put up for sale on Sotheby's website this week for an asking price of $7.45 million.

Her four bedroom apartment is located in luxury apartment building The Osborne. It was originally built in 1885 and renovated by Architectural Digest designers Carrier and Company to feature “Gilded Age details” for sophistication and style.

The living room embodies this design with restored mahogany paneling, elaborately carved doorways and windows and a bay window with Tiffany Studio-created leaded glass transoms, according to a description from Sotheby’s. It also features plaster crown moldings, oak parquet floors, high ceilings and a wood-burning fireplace.

At the center of the apartment is a parlor, which is described as evoking “the grandeur of bygone days,” with a framed oak doorway with pocket doors, period hardware and another cozy fireplace. The parlor leads to the living room, library and dining room, which all have raised and fielded paneling and details like pocket doors, leaded glass transoms and oak flooring.

Another notable room in the apartment is its “eat-in” kitchen with a 14’ ceiling, a custom central island and even a rolling ladder that’s described as “both practical and a fun design element.” It also features several cabinets for food storage and top-of-the-line appliances integrated with custom panels, according to the apartment’s description.

As for the primary bedroom, it contains another fireplace with a wall of mirrored closets and is adjacent to the primary bathroom, which features “a bespoke copper-soaking tub,” water closet, double sinks, walk-in shower and built-in vanity. There are two additional bedrooms — including one with views of Carnegie Hall — and a full bathroom with large soaking tub.

“For those who dream of creating the perfect stage set for the backdrop of their urban lives look no further,” a description on Sotheby’s website reads. “[The apartment] has had an illustrious provenance, with previous tenants including Adam Guettel, Bobby Short, and Leonard Bernstein — a lineage perfect for the buyer who loves the aesthetic of Old Hollywood and the Gilded Age.”

Chastain previously opened up about the home, which she renovated with husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, in an interview with Architectural Digest in 2017. “When I found out about all the other artists and actors who have lived here, I was in love,” she told the outlet at the time.

Many of the apartment's designs, including its five fireplaces were even her idea, as she told the outlet, “I told our realtor I didn’t even want to see anything without fireplaces.”

“On those rare occasions when Jessica and Gian Luca are able to push pause, they can light a fire and relax,” home designer Carrier explained of addition of fireplaces and decor. “From room to room there’s a warm, welcoming glow that’s meant to signify homecoming.”

He added of the renovation as a whole: “Our biggest triumph was breathing new life, glamor, and sophistication into the old girl. This home was built to be bold and beautiful, like its new owner.”
