Jessica Chastain lands next lead movie role
Jessica Chastain has reunited with Memory director Michael Franco for her next lead movie role.
Jessica and Michael attended the Venice Film Festival recently to promote Memory, which follows Jessica as a social worker whose simple life is shaken to its core after an old classmate follows her home from their high school reunion.
The two have also finished shooting a new film, too: Dreams, which stars Isaac Hernandez and Rupert Friend, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Jessica, Michael and the company completed shooting Dreams in San Francisco this summer with a budget of around $3 million. Little is known of plot details so fair but it is reported to involve a forbidden romance between a woman who works for an arts foundation and a ballet dancer.
The reason that Dreams was allowed to shoot this summer, when so many other projects have halted due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, is that it had a SAG-AFTRA waiver to allow it to shoot during the strikes.
Jessica has been vocal about how these types of agreements can be a good tool to use. She wrote on X/Twitter: "If a majority of independent producers, come forward and sign the Interim Agreement deal it will show the AMPTP how wrong they are when they say our contract terms are unrealistic or unreasonable."

"These agreements also provide employment opportunities for our crew members who are really struggling during the strike. By doing this, we advance our strike agenda as we keep the pressure on the struck companies in a way that nothing else will," she said.
These two projects will look to continue a hot streak for Jse, who won an Oscar last year for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, She also starred in the lauded The Good Nurse and is to star in a new Apple TV+ series.
