Jennifer Love Hewitt Fans Applaud Her Candid Message About Aging
Jennifer Love Hewitt is celebrating a personal milestone — and she's using the moment to reflect on life as a whole.
On February 21, the 9-1-1 actress went on Instagram to celebrate her 46th birthday. While she's been known over the years to talk about aging and being considered an "older" actress in Hollywood, Jennifer chose to use her personal occasion to reflect on the lessons she's learned over the years. As she uploaded a selfie of herself not wearing a stitch of makeup, she emotionally revealed that she's now feeling more comfortable in her own skin than she has for some time. What's more, Jennifer's proud of who she's become at this stage of life — and she had to acknowledge that as well.
"46 years old. No make up and no filter," she began the lengthy caption. "It’s been a hard start to the year. I don’t quite feel myself. But yet I feel like maybe this is all to bring me closer to who I am meant to be. In this feeling of loss and being lost I have found a strange calm and letting go that doesn’t usually come easy to me."
"I have all the things I really need and long truly for nothing other than joyful moments, continuing in the career I love, more time with friends, delicious food and to feel a shift to this year that brings clarity and hopefully the return of a little magic," she added. "I have experienced and seen how the world can be cruel to women as they age and yet seen the women I admire become happier, sexier and more powerful with every added number... I love all who choose to do it by my side and I am ready to give love today to the younger me and the older me because they are my ride or die’s. Sending love to all and cheers to 46! ❤️."
When the I Know What You Did Last Summer alum's followers read her emotional message about aging in Hollywood, they immediately rushed to her side as a means of showing their support.
"Isn’t it great how much more of our lives we own as we get older (and wiser). The important things in life come clearly into focus. Have a great birthday ❤️," one person wrote in the comments. "Happy birthday beautiful, soul. Thank you for staying humble 😌," another penned. "This is beautiful. You are beautiful inside and out. Thank you for sharing because I can relate. Now, it's important to note Jennifer isn't the only actress as of late who's speaking up about feeling confident while aging.
