Jennifer Lopez Wore Her 'Jersey Girl' Dress at Her and Ben Affleck's Wedding
Jennifer Lopez paid tribute to Ben Affleck in a big way at their wedding.
The Marry Me actress's wedding dress was the same white dress she wore on the poster for Jersey Girl—the 2004 movie she starred in with Affleck.
The strapless, lacy Alexander McQueen gown in textured floral jacquard was one of two looks she debuted on her wedding day. It features a jewel neckline, corseted bodice, and gathered full skirt. In a video of her getting ready for the nuptials, Lopez said of the piece, "I’ve had this dress for so many years, and I’ve just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I’m wearing it on my wedding day."
She shared the clip in her newsletter, On The JLo, confirming her surprise Las Vegas wedding to Affleck, and fans quickly put the pieces together, noting that the dreamy dress, was indeed pulled straight out of her Jersey Girl closet.
Affleck and Lopez filmed the romantic comedy when they were engaged, back in the early 2000s, which means the "Let's Get Loud" singer saved the piece for over 20 years.
The two met on the set of Gigli in 2001, and in 2002, the actor proposed. In 2003, they filmed Jersey Girl, and in 2004, they called off their engagement. The two parted ways for nearly two decades, but rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot this July 17, in a little chapel in Vegas.
"They were right when they said, 'all you need is love'. We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to," Lopez wrote in her newsletter post. "Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with. Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for."
