Last week saw a revival of our favourite beauty 'chick flick' moments. Not only did Kate Hudson sport the 00s side fringe from her iconic film, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days but Anne Hathaway also channeled her The Devil Wears Prada character, Andy Sachs, during an epic New York Fashion Week moment. And just when we thought we had hit peak fashion magazine movie genre revival (life goal = achieved), Jennifer Lopez only went and *unintentionally* recreated a signature look from the 2004 film, 13 Going On 30. How very meta.
Paired with a head-to-toe white three-piece cropped blazer suit set (is that a mouthful or what?!), J-Lo took to Instagram to share her 90s-inspired look. In the caption of her post, the star shared that she wore the twisted updo to speak to 400 Latina small business owners for Hispanic Heritage Month.
Not only did Jen share a snap of the look but her hairstylist, Chris Appleton also shared a 360-degree video reel to give us every angle. He has slicked back the body of her hair and knotted the mid-lengths, all whilst keeping the ends out and spiked. But enough of my description, let's get to what we're all here for and that's the proof in the pudding. Take a look at said posts below:
To compare, let's remind ourselves of the twisted spikey updo that Jennifer Garner herself wore in the film:
And to confirm, it's not just us who thought this look was reminiscent of the time. Fans took to the comments sections to share their thoughts:
One person wrote: "Literally my 10th grade prom updo in 2003".
Another said: "Back to the 90s!".
Whilst another fan put: "Yessssss🔥🔥🔥 That hair is bringing back the 2000s vibe!!".
Someone else added: "13 going on 30 👀".
I mean, to complete the look, all J-Lo needs now is the OG rainbow dress.
