Jennifer Lopez celebrates 52nd birthday and confirms Ben Affleck relationship
Jennifer Lopez was busy celebrating her 52nd birthday over the weekend, and used the occasion as a chance to finally confirm her reunion with Ben Affleck. The couple made their relationship social-media official by sharing a picture of them kissing during her birthday celebrations.
The rest of the pictures shared show Lopez on what looks like a luxury yacht, wearing a red string bikini paired with a flowing floral cover-up, layered gold necklaces, and an olive wide-brim fedora. Affleck wears a navy button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up.
"5 2 … what it do …" Lopez wrote in the caption.
The singer-actress also posted a video of herself posing on the deck of the yacht, wearing pink sunglasses that match her pink wedge heels.
The reunited couple's official Instagram debut comes after their unofficial one, a joint appearance in a slideshow of Leah Remini's birthday party. Though they've kept their relationship off social media prior to this weekend, Lopez and Affleck have been spotted together on numerous occasions in Los Angeles, along with a Fourth of July weekend in the Hamptons.
The couple, who were previously engaged in 2002, have reportedly become extremely close again in recent weeks. They've been spotted bonding with each other's children at Universal Studios Hollywood and touring homes in an LA neighbourhood. Insider reports suggest that the two are madly in love, and that Lopez "feels like they've been given a second chance".
"They want to do everything they can to make this work. Even though their split many years ago was devastating for Jennifer, she has never had a bad word to say about Ben," a source close to Lopez told People.
Lopez confirmed her split from fiancé Alex Rodriguez in April after a two-year engagement. Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children. They announced their separation after 10 years of marriage in 2015.
