Jennifer Lopez breaks her silence amid Ben Affleck divorce
On Saturday, the last day of August, Jennifer Lopez shared her end-of-summer photo mood board following a week of social media silence since news of her divorce from Ben Affleck broke.
On both X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram, the singer shared some pictures with the caption, 'Oh, it was a summer.'
In the carousel, JLo shared some glimpses from her last few months, including photos of a bubble bath, an adorable dog, a new orange kitten and several inspirational quotes. One read, 'Everything is unfolding in divine order,' while a slogan on a T-shirt said, 'She’s in bloom and unbothered, out of reach and at peace.'
There are also several photos of the star looking stunning, one in which she’s wearing a white one-piece and taking a mirror selfie of her backside, another where she is wearing a white mini dress with a red bow at the waist and matching shoes and purse in deep burgundy, and one where she’s enjoying an ice cream while wearing a white and mint green dress.
She posed in one photo with her sister Lynda Lopez and shared some pictures of her kids enjoying the season with her and the new kitten.
The news broke that JLo had filed for divorce from Ben on 20 August after they seemingly spent the summer on opposite coasts. She was primarily based in New York, while he moved from their shared home in Los Angeles to another pad in town. The date of separation listed on her filing was 26 April, which is the two-year anniversary of their wedding in Georgia in 2022.
The former couple are yet to officially comment but an insider told Us Weekly that they had been working on their relationship for a while before deciding on divorce, saying, 'It was more and more apparent they weren’t a good match,' and adding that they tried to 'make it work' by going to therapy.
'It boiled down to [the fact that] they are two different people,' the source said. '[Jennifer] came to the realisation things weren’t going to change and they were incompatible. Spending time apart, it became obvious it wouldn’t work.'
