Jennifer Lawrence's Completely Sheer Oscars After-Party Dress References a '90s Supermodel
A dress passed down from one icon to another.
Jennifer Lawrence kept the glamour going at the 2024 Vanity Fair Oscars Party. After embracing Old Hollywood glam with a 1950s-esque black-and-white strapless Dior gown covered in polka dots, J.Law looked back to fashion history once again with her after-party look.
For the occasion, the actress pulled a sheer white gown from the Givenchy archives, which initially made its runway debut on supermodel Kate Moss during the fashion brand's fall 1996 couture show. The entire collection was nodded to Les Incroyables of 18th-century Paris — and while Lawrence opted not to wear the powdered wig that came with the outfit, she left the majority of the gown, which featured an empire waist, cap sleeves, and a clover-leaf pattern, untouched.
Underneath the sheer fabric of the dress, J. Law's white underwear was visible, and she finished accessorizing with white satin pointed-toe pumps, a bedazzled bangle, and diamond stud earrings.

Her blonde finger-combed waves were pulled back into an elegant bun at the nape of the neck, while the remainder of her glam included a peachy-pink lip, subtle winged liner, and naturally flushed cheeks.
Although she wasn't nominated for any awards at yesterday's Oscars (she, instead, presented Emma Stone with the Best Actress award), Lawrence was recognized during the 2024 Golden Globes for her role in the comedy No Hard Feelings.
