From Jennifer Aniston to Keira Knightley, the dress everyone was wearing in 2018
From Topshop’s polka dot pinafore dress to that Molly Goddard frock Jodie Comer wore in ‘Killing Eve’, 2018 should be hailed the year we turned our backs on the co-ord in favour of ladylike frills.
But there was one label in particular that answered our newfound desire for a more ‘put together’ approach to everyday dressing, Vampire’s Wife.
Co-founded by former nineties model Susie Cave back in 2014, the cool girl brand introduced the fash pack to a range of dresses dubbed the Falconetti, Festival, Belle and the Cinderella.
Each garment is prim and proper featuring fancy cuffs and a tiered hem – a failsafe recipe for Instagram likes.
So it wasn’t long until the dresses garnered a cult following with a legion of A-listers desperate to wear the label for starry events.
Proving its versatility, it was a triple whammy at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal nuptials with Charlotte Riley leading the best dressed pack in a floral ensemble.
With a Buckingham Palace stamp of approval, it’s hardly surprising Vampire’s Wife soon earned an invite onto the red carpet.
Demonstrating how to rock winter florals, Chloë Moretz kick-started the year’s obsession by wearing one of the label’s coveted dresses for the premiere of ‘The Miseducation of Cameron Post’.
Vampy lipstick and gold booties finished the look.
Meanwhile, the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Keira Knightley demonstrated how to don the ensemble with no added frills. A glitzy hair barrette accessorised Aniston’s talkshow outfit – another major 2018 trend ticked.
Knightley on the other hand opted for the brand’s £670 Wild Rose Gypsy frock teamed with minimal make-up and dainty block heels.
Tasked with making metallic hues cool again was Emma Willis who wore a vivid emerald colourway for the GQ Awards in September.
Felicity Jones soon followed suit in a pink version of the festive frock which stole our heart and has sadly yet to come back in stock…
Fast-forward a month and Busy Philipps gave a lesson in festive florals with a lick of red lipstick to finish.
But the question on everyone’s lips remains: is there still time to add it to the top of our Christmas wish list?
