Jenna Ortega just revived our *fave* indie sleaze-inspired micro-trend
ICYMI: Jenna Ortega is currently promoting her next project, the spooky Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
A sequel to the 1988 film Beetlejuice, the movie sees some of the original cast — including Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara — alongside fresh faces like Jenna (duh!) and Monica Belluci.
To celebrate, Jenna (under the guidance of her stylist Enrique Melendez) has been seriously nailing the method dressing trend, showing up in an array of chic gothic looks paying homage to her character.
Some highlights? Her London premiere look, a custom Harris Reed gown featuring 3D floral nipples, a peplum hem and black velvet side stripe, accessorised with opera gloves. And before that, her pinstripe office siren look, accessorised with theeeee perfect cat eye sunglasses. Oh, and of course, the tulle Vivienne Westwood outfit she wore to publicise the film in Mexico City.
Now, she's back at it, with a new look that confirms she is a fash-un icon in-the-making. To a London photo call, she rocked a burgundy blazer dress with contrasting red lapels from Alexander McQueen.
The look appeared to be a reference to the tuxedo worn by Michael Keaton in the original film's wedding scene. But while the outfit harked back to the 1988 OG Beetlejuice, the way it was styled was so very, very now.
Ditching trousers (and tapping into the 'no trousers' trend, natch) she accessorised the look with a pair of sky-scraping slingback heels by Le Silla and — wait for it!! — a pair of pillar box red rights.
As you may well have noticed, all of the chicest girls you know were wearing block colour tights (preferably in tomato red) last winter — and now Jenna has confirmed that the trend is here to stay.
Officially obsessed.
