Jemma Reekie continued her unstoppable form last night as she claimed her third win in a week at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting in Poland. Setting a new outdoor PB and a new British outdoor under-23 record in her finish time of 1:58.63. The previous British record of 1:59.05 was set by Christina Boxer in 1979.

On 19 August, Reekie claimed victory in the 1500m at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze event. On 23 August at the AUHAUS-Galan Diamond League meeting in Stockholm, Reekie won the 800m.

Reekie is coached by Andy Young, who also coaches teammate Laura Muir.

Reekie moved in with teammate Laura Muir in lockdown and Muir has spoken out about how this has been a huge motivation to the duo. Speaking to BBC Sport, Muir said, ‘We knew we'd train really well together and motivate each other. It was quite natural because we are away on training camps a lot together anyway. That's why she moved in. I hope that means we can race well over these next couple of months.’
