Jelly Roll Updates Fans on Health After Losing 140 Pounds
Jelly Roll shared a health update regarding his weight loss journey.
He proudly announced that he hiked a mountain recently.
The musician has lost 140 pounds and plans to lose more.
2025 continues Jelly Roll’s weight loss journey. The musician is conquering milestones and feeling great about it, he shared in a recent health update. The work isn’t always easy, he said, but it’s worth it.
“I hiked a mountain the other day. Camelback,” he told told E! News on February 7, referencing an Arizona hike. “There is no way that would have been possible beforehand, so it’s great to see that progress and we still are going.”
Shortly after, he shared a video from the finishing point of an uphill hike, presumably Camelback, on Instagram. As he took in the view below him, he encouraged people on their own health journeys not to give up, even when it’s difficult. “We got up that hill today, dog!” he exclaimed. “From the bottom of my heart, I’m tired, I’m frustrated, I’m sore, but holy f*ck isn’t that beautiful?” He continued: “We can’t live in a false sense of this thing not sucking. It’s gonna hurt... I’m sore all the time. But I feel better, ya’ll.”
The 40-year-old shared the same sentiment with E! News. “It isn’t always the case where I feel focused or positive,” he said. “The things that motivate me and keep me going are the people I have met along the way—across the juveniles and rehab centers or prisons along the way. The people that come up to me and bravely share their sobriety date, or a story of something that they’ve dealt with, or someone they’ve lost.”
In December, he appeared on his wife Bunny XO’s Dumb Blonde Podcast where he shared that he had lost 140 pounds. Bunny made it a point to say he did so without taking Ozempic or other weight loss drugs. It was a choice he made not out of stubbornness, he said, but out of fear of potential side effects, especially acid reflux.
“As a singer, few things scare me more than acid reflux,” he said. “Like, you’ll watch me get up out of a bed, I’ll burp and wake up panicked and go take something for it. You know? Because that stuff will just rip the vocal cords.”
So, he’s relied on exercise and diet changes that he implemented on tour last year to lose weight. And although the tour is over, his health journey is nowhere near the finish line, he said. “I wanna be on the cover of Men’s Health by March of 2026,” he said on the podcast. “That’s my new goal. I want to have one of the biggest transformations.”
