Janet Street-Porter returns to Loose Women studio after skin cancer diagnosis
Loose Women panellist Janet Street-Porter has returned to the studio following a skin cancer operation.
Janet announced on the show last month that she had been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer after originally thinking that she had been bitten on the nose by a mosquito over Christmas when she went to Australia.
On Tuesday's episode (7 July), Janet said she'd missed being live in the studio after previously appearing via video link.
"I'm here! It's very exciting and thrilling to be back," Janet said. "I've missed being in the studio so much. I hated doing the show from home, I was hopeless."
Janet revealed that she had a skin cancer operation on her nose two weeks ago and, last week, she had the stitches taken out.
Explaining her diagnosis last month, Janet said: "I showed this tiny spot on my nose to a dermatologist and he immediately referred me to a consultant and they said I've got a basal cell carcinoma, which is a form of skin cancer.
"If untreated it could grow. It has to be removed otherwise it's going to get bigger and bigger. Also, I could be left with a very big scar.
'It's very, very exciting and thrilling to be back.'
We're happy to see you in studio too, Janet 😉

"I was about to have it removed, then lockdown happened three days before I was supposed to have it removed."
The 73-year-old added: "I've spent the whole of lockdown getting more and more anxious about it.
"Although it doesn't look any bigger on top of my skin, this kind of cancer grows under the skin. You can't see it and that's what they've got to cut out."
You can find out more about basal cell carcinoma and other forms of skin cancer (non-melanoma) on the NHS website.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
