Jamie Otis opens up about swimsuit confidence after being 'bigger than my husband'
The influencer included a caption about not letting weight gain stop her from putting on a swimsuit.
Jamie Otis isn't letting her insecurities stop her from spending time with her family.
On Wednesday, the 36-year-old "Married At First Sight" star shared a sun-soaked video on Instagram of herself at the beach with her husband Doug Hehner. She was wearing a pair of pastel green high-waisted swimsuit bottoms and a pale pink and banana-patterned top.
In the Instagram Reel, the "Bachelor" alum included old photos of herself and her husband at a beach, prior to her first pregnancy. The pair now share two children, five-year-old daughter Henley and two-year-old Hendrix, 2.
The influencer included a caption about not letting weight gain stop her from putting on a swimsuit, going to the beach with her family, and being in photos with them.
"Me thinking I'll never feel beautiful in a bikini if I gain weight," Otis penned in the on-screen text over two photos showing off her pre-pregnancy body in a bikini.
"Me after kids and bigger than my husband," she added, over a clip of herself and Hehner in recent video. "I'm so thankful I haven't let life pass me by just because I gained some weight."
Otis explained when she was younger, it was more difficult to gain weight.
"Now I can just look at food and feel it go straight to my hips," she quipped. "I'm bigger than I've ever been my whole life.
Despite initially feeling "super insecure" after gaining weight, Otis decided that she wasn't going to "miss out" on life because of it.
"I don't want to miss out on taking my kids swimming and enjoying precious moments with my family because of my cellulite and belly rolls... I want to be in the pics with my kids, even if I'm bigger now. I want to remember," she wrote.
"No matter what the scale says, I put the suit on," she added before admitting that her confidence wasn't built overnight. "I still struggle."

In the comments, fans met Otis' note with praise on her commitment to her family.
"Honestly, you look better now!," an Instagram user commented. "Thank you for sharing."
"This is so real," someone else wrote. "Your kids' childhood memories are way more important than body image insecurities that shouldn't exist in the first place 'cause you're obviously stunning then and now. Thank you for sharing this!"
Another shared: "You are so beautiful always! I love this message.
"Truly an inspiration," a commenter added.
In March, Otis shared another body-positive video about swimming with her kids, despite not having had time to shave.
"Making core memories with my babies," she captioned it.
"I stopped pressuring myself to be what I thought was 'perfect' and gosh, there's such a freedom in being able to have a bikini line full of razor burn and hair and still put the suit on and let your kiddos swim between your legs at a public pool."
