For those who were left pretty shocked at the end of the 2019 Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, good news; the show's writers James Corden and Ruth Jones just dropped the biggest hint yet that we could be getting another series.

The BBC show pulled in a whopping 18.5million viewers, including those who watched on catch-up, and many were begging for more after the cliffhanger ending. Luckily, we could be getting our wish, if James and Ruth have anything to do with it.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk about the show's figures, the duo said: "It's mind-blowing that so many people watched our show – we still can't get our heads around it, what a massive compliment.

"We are indebted to the BBC for their incredible support but most importantly to those 18.5 million viewers for watching. We just hope one day we can let them know what Smithy said next."

Another cliffhanger?! Oh my christ.
