Jake Paul mocked as YouTuber trains with chicken on his head ahead of fight with Iron Mike Tyson
Jake Paul is set to face Mike Tyson in the boxing ring on Friday, 15 November in a huge fight taking place in Texas. Despite having not been boxing for very long, YouTuber Jake says he's confident about taking on the iconic boxer and made sure he looked the part during the open workout.
Jake, 27, arrived at the Toyota Music Factory in Texas, USA, on Tuesday (12 November) for the workout sporting a very quirky hairstyle. He had dyed his blonde locks bright red and had an artificial rooster attached to his hairline, with a number of feathers poking out from the back of his head. Jake's odd choice of hairstyle was quickly mocked by fans on social media.
"So what they're saying is @jakepaul is going to chicken out?" one person wrote. Another said: "I can’t wait to see Mike Tyson turn Jake Paul into some ground chicken and eat him for dinner."

A third commented: "If Jake paul wants to be a professional boxer he has to start by looking like the part. Being professional boxer isn’t just about skills it’s about the discipline and respect for the sport. Yet he has a rooster on his head."
However, Jake cleared up any confusion about his hairstyle during the open workout. The YouTuber, who hails from Cleveland, Ohio but now lives in Puerto Rico, explained that the rooster was a tribute to his nickname 'El Gallo' which translates to 'the rooster' in Spanish. Jake's previous nickname was 'The Problem Child'.
He spoke about his life in Puerto Rico and his nickname at the event. Jake said: "Where people love me and where people have given me this amazing nickname, ‘El Gallo,’ which is why I got rooster hair on tonight. I love the island. It’s just such good people. We’re all very similar – off-roading, drinking beers, going fast, and [expletive] people up in the ring. I love Puerto Rico."
He went on to reveal he is confident he will win his fight against Mike, saying: "Friday, my dreams come true and my career starts. This is the start of an amazing journey. What I’ve done so far doesn’t matter. Friday night my career starts. I promise you, I was built for this, destined for this. The gods got me. The universe got me and I, Jake Joseph Paul, will knock out Mike Tyson. Friday November 15, it is written in the history books."
Jake and Mike will face each other in the ring on Friday, 15 November at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The card begins at 7pm local time - 1am UK time on Saturday morning - with Jake and Mike expected to make their ring walks at around 10pm local time (4am UK time). The fight will be streamed live on Netflix.
