Jack Whitehall jokes he has 'some growing up to do' before becoming a father

Jack Whitehall has jokingly admitted he has "some growing up to do" before his first child arrives.

The 34-year-old comedian and his girlfriend Roxy Horner announced on Sunday that they were expecting their first child.

Reacting to the news during an appearance on the Heart Breakfast radio show on Thursday, the Bad Education star admitted he is both "terrified" and "excited" about becoming a parent.

"My girlfriend is pregnant. Terrified, absolutely terrified, but very, very excited as well, and yeah, I need to do some growing up! I think that's what needs to happen now, very quickly," he joked.

Co-host Amanda Holden then asked Jack how his parents Michael and Hilary, who appear in his show Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, reacted to the pregnancy news.

"They were both delighted, but then within about five to 10 minutes of me having told them, there was a lot of references from my father about how I was siring him an illegitimate heir," he humorously continued. "And I was like wow that's going to be the next three or four months of my life."

Jack and Roxy, who started dating in 2020, announced their news on Instagram by posting photos of them posing with a baby scan image.

"And I thought I wasn't getting enough attention when the dog arrived...," he jokingly wrote in the caption, while the model added, "The best news to share..."
