During its Jenna Lyons-era, I was a J.Crew devotee—I even worked there briefly in college, primarily because I wanted the employee discount. After that, I fell off for a bit; like many, I felt the classy-cool brand was losing its edge. But, after a few updates—namely, appointing Olympia Gayot as its creative director—I’m here to report that I’m back aboard the J.Crew train. And its just-dropped collection is my current obsession.

The new arrivals take you from late winter to early spring, featuring everything from cozy knits to trending prints and bold colors. And while I’d love to own almost everything from the drop, there are a few items I can’t stop thinking about. Below, shop my top picks from J.Crew’s early-spring collection, including a mix of staple and statement styles.

10 Best J.Crew New Arrivals

Sheer Leopard Print Long-Sleeve Top

J.Crew

J.Crew

I’m obsessed with this leopard print long-sleeve top that is sure to become my go-to statement piece. That bold, trending print can elevate your everyday outfits with almost no effort. It will pop under a blazer or against a simple pair of jeans, and to take it to night, all you need is a black mini skirt, semi-sheer tights, and your favorite heels.

Rain or Shine Trench Coat

J.Crew

J.Crew

This super shiny red rain coat is at the top of my wishlist. The style is bold, luxe-looking, and—thanks to those rain-resistant storm flaps—actually practical. And, like any good statement piece, it can instantly make any basic outfit interesting (though you can also grab it in black and khaki). Given that a lookalike style from Christopher John Rogers’s J.Crew collaboration sold out, I’m not waiting to grab this one.

Brushed Cashmere Short-Sleeve Sweater Polo

J.Crew

J.Crew

J.Crew brought its uber soft brushed cashmere to this short-sleeve polo, creating what is, in my opinion, the perfect spring top. The fact that it’s cozy but not overly warm is part of what makes it so ideal, and that light blue color helps, too. But you definitely don’t have to wait to wear it; since the top isn’t chunky, layering a coat or blazer over top won’t be an issue.

High-Rise Sailor Kickout Jeans

J.Crew

J.Crew

I’ve fallen in love with how put-together a pair of dark-wash jeans can look, so I’m bringing the wintery shade into spring. The key to doing this is finding a fresh silhouette and showing a little ankle. This high-rise pair, which features a slightly cropped hem, leg-elongating flare, and cute patch pockets, does that perfectly.

I’ve been wanting to add a few transitional and spring-ready pieces to my wardrobe, and J.Crew’s just-dropped styles have convinced me to finally do it. Below, shop more of my favorites from the early-spring collection.
