Ivanka Trump Wears 3D Floral Oscar de la Renta Suit for President Donald Trump’s Address to Congress
Ivanka Trump brought a touch of flower power to suiting with statement floral embroidery on Tuesday to attend her father President Donald Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress at the U.S. Capitol.
The navy blue look included a crewneck tweed peplum blazer featuring orchid appliqués around the shoulder and waist, with a matching skirt. From the brand’s resort collection by co-creative directors Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim, the line took inspiration Garcia’s watercolor orchid paintings.

Ivanka recently turned to Oscar de la Renta ahead of President Trump’s inauguration in January, where she wore the brand to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, opting for a camel coat with 3D floral appliqués and a mock turtleneck.
The choice of an American brand, again, on Tuesday aligns with her father’s theme for his first address to Congress under his second term: the Renewal of the American Dream.
While Ivanka dreamt of an American design for the speech, first lady Melania Trump had Paris on her mind in a grey jacket and matching skirt from Dior — which held its Paris Fashion Week fall 2025 show on the same day.
Other style statements at the address to Congress varied, from dark colors to vibrant symbolic hues. Ivanka’s sister Tiffany wore a black dress, matching Donald Trump Jr’s girlfriend Bettina Anderson, who wore a tailored suit. Eric Trump’s wife Lara also meant business wearing a suit in a shade of Republican-favored red.
Second lady Usha Vance went with a light neutral-colored relaxed-fit blazer with rolled up sleeves and matching trousers. And there was no shortage of pink clothing in the room — but mostly on the side of the female democratic legislators, who chose the color in solidarity as a “signal our protest of Trump’s policies which are negatively impacting women and families,” said New Mexico Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, who chairs the Democratic Women’s Caucus, in an interview with Time magazine. Adding, “pink is a color of power and protest.” Other members of Congress showed their support for Ukraine in yellow and blue — a nod to the nation’s flag amid Donald Trump’s freeze on aid to the country.
