ITV's Loose Women presenters have issued a heartfelt tribute following the news that Linda Nolan has passed away. On Wednesday, January 15, it was announced that the much-loved TV personality and popstar Linda Nolan had died at the age of 65 following her battle with cancer.
Linda had a long journey with secondary breast cancer. The Daily Mirror Columnist passed away on Wednesday, with her famous sisters at her side - just days after her last poignant piece for the newspaper. Her final hours were said to have been full of "love and comfort," as reported by the Mirror..
During Wednesday's episode, Christine Lampard was joined by Myleene Klass, Kelly Brook and Nadia Sawalha. Halting the show around half way through the live episode, Christine and her fellow presenters issued a heartfelt tribute to Linda, whose sister Coleen Nolan, is a regular panellist on the ITV talk show. Christine said: "Very sad news for you now, Linda Nolan - Coleen's sister, who was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer in 2017, has died at the age of 65. In a statement, just released: 'It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan. She passed peacefully with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments.
"'Linda’s legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace Linda, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten'."
Myleene Klass was clearly moved to tears by the heartfelt statement. Christine continued, addressing her fellow Loose Women presenters: "We’ve been talking about Linda for so long, haven't we? With Coleen. We know it was an incredibly tough time for the family. You are just never prepared. You are never prepared."
Nadia added: "Nothing prepares you because there is a moment when the light goes out, and when the light goes out, it’s the most awful shock. And they’ve been through so much as a family. Sending all our love." Christine agreed and added: "Yes, and to Colene, to Linda’s family, to all the family indeed. We were thinking of you all today."
On Wednesday afternoon, Coleen Nolan re-shared a post from The Nolans X page, which had also issued a tribute to Linda. The Loose Women posted a broken heart emoji alongside the post on her social media page.
