Introducing G-Dragon's Peaceminusone x Nike AF1 '07 'Para-Noise 3.0'
You needn't be a fan of K-Pop to appreciate and enjoy South Korean musician G-Dragon's Nike sneakers. You needn't even have heard of him.
You see, his alliance with the Swoosh, via his fashion label Peaceminusone (stylised as 'PEACEMINUSONE'), stands on its own two sneaks. Which is the ultimate sign of an effective collaboration, wouldn't you agree?
Coming this September is the 3.0 version of the Peaceminusone x Nike Air Force 1 '07 'Para-Noise'.
2.0 launched in 2020; the 1.0 debuted in 2019.
Like the OG, it arrives with a black upper, but this time the monochrome is disrupted by hits of 'new emerald', 'tour yellow', blue gale' and 'pinkfire'.
And although what you can see is surely quirky enough to whip up interest – the embroidered daisy on the tongue (it's the brand's official logo), the paint streaks across the sole, the thickset laces, et cetera – it's what you can't see (yet!) that makes this a must for the collection.
Beneath the upper's lacquer layer (designed to crack and peel away with wear) lies a stimulating artwork by G-Dragon. Historically (so, with 1 and 2), the vibe has matched that of the sneaker's insole, as well as the graphic printed onto the side of the shoe box.
Speaking of the box, you'll discover more than just a pair of shoes inside.
There's a small bag of fun eyelet charms adorned with motifs associated with G-Dragon. There's an extra pair of chunky laces enhanced by unique aglets. Attached to one of the shoes is a punky fabric tag. It's marked with the name of the K-Pop star – a reminder to spread the word about his exceptional eye for design (and as good a time as any to hop on Spotify).
The Peaceminusone x Nike Air Force 1 '07 'Para-Noise 3.0' will be available for £184.99 on the Saturday 14 September at 8am on the Nike SNKRS app. Size range: UK 3.5-14.
