Inside Strictly's Layton Williams £350-a-night luxury Jamaican holiday

Layton Williams may have missed out on winning the Strictly Come Dancing Glitterball trophy in December, but he was a winner in many people's eyes as he continuously broke records and wowed audiences throughout the series.

But it was a gruelling 12 weeks on the BBC One dance contest, so it was inevitable that the actor and West End star would take some much-needed time off in the New Year. He soon jetted off to California in the US, and most recently he has been showing off his luxury Jamaican holiday to his Instagram followers.

Layton checked into the paradise island with a pic of him walking on a white sandy beach, holding a cocktail and wearing only a sarong, simply titled: "JAMin'"

He followed up with some enviable images of his first few days chilling on a sun lounger overlooking the crystal blue ocean. Layton also showed off his lush digs as he was staying in the Sandals Whitehouse Jamaica resort, where rooms can set you back £350 a night.

The five-star hotel is set along a two mile stretch of the island's pristine south coast where "water is the inspiration for everything new and innovative." It boasts three beachfront pools, nine fine-dining restaurants, 7 bars (including swim-up bar), over-the-water villas – where Layton appears to have stayed – and there's even an over-the-water church.

For entertainment, guests can choose from scuba diving, snorkelling, waterskiing, wakeboarding kayaking and paddleboarding and back on land, there's tennis, pickleball and a state-of-the-art fitness centre as well as day and night entertainment and live shows.

And Layton has certainly been making the most of he facilities on his holiday. However, it is the breathtaking sea which has made the most impact on the star as he posted a series of images of him emerging from the water looking suitable refreshed, titled "Island Boy".

They even recreated the infamous scene where Daniel Craig wades through water in a tiny pair of shorts as James Bond in the movie Casino Royale, a detail which hasn't gone unnoticed by Layton's former Strictly contestant Angela Scanlon, who commented: "His Bond audition has been filed."

In his Stories, Layton entertained his followers by showing them all the different ways he styled his bandana in the colours of the Jamaican flag saying: "Guys I'm fuming I've just been playing with this bandana and different ways that I think it could be chic, it started on my head, it went on my wrist, it was on my bag and now its round my neck and apparently I look like I work here."

Layton rounded off the holidays with a final set of images of him relaxing in and a round the resort and enjoying a breathtaking sunset, posting: "Home after a gorge week at @sandals_uk.. feeling revitalised."
