Inside Prince William's daily diet from what he 'struggles' to eat and favourite fast food

Prince William has access to the greatest cuisine in the world, from banquets with foreign dignitaries to his father King Charles's Duchy Royal Organic British produce, so his daily diet may surprise you.

In 2022, the father of three made his first official visit to Cornwall as the Duke of Cornwall. During his visit to a community garden in Newquay, he was unexpectedly quizzed about his dietary habits by nutritionist Monique Hyland.

The future king revealed not only his daily diet but also his secret indulgences when his wife, Kate Middleton, isn't around.

Following their enlightening chat at Newquay Orchard, Monique shared with Cornwall Live that William initially seemed "a little bit nervous to begin with when I asked him what he ate yesterday" when she asked him about his previous day's meals. However, this was all part of a nutritional quiz and the prince got off to an impressive start.

He had started his day healthily, but by lunchtime, his diet had become more indulgent...

Breakfast

During his visit to the community space, William filled out a complete nutrition sheet. It was noted that his "healthy breakfast" consisted of two eggs, wholemeal toast with butter, apple juice, and a cup of tea.

On another occasion in 2022, during a trip to Swansea, the father-of-three disclosed that he enjoys cooking a full English breakfast. "I do a good breakfast, sausage, bacon and eggs," he told a group of children while cooking with them in a small church kitchen.

Monique confirmed that William often relies on others to purchase his food: "He admitted someone had got him a 'rubbish sandwich' for lunch," which he washed down with a glass of water.

Whilst William's father, King Charles, is famously known not to indulge in lunch, especially during public outings, he has been known to enjoy samples when offered.

Dinner

The night before his Royal visit, Prince William opted for a simple dinner of white fish. As revealed by previous Royal chef Darren McGrady, the Duke of Cambridge has a fondness for pasta dishes.

Darren recalled whisking up mac and cheese for young William, while Kate disclosed during A Berry Royal Christmas in 2019 that her husband made her bolognese during their university years.

However, Kate let slip ahead of their Royal tour of India in 2016 that while she enjoys hot food, her husband "struggles" with spices.

Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl told Vanity Fair that Kate enjoys cooking William's favourite dish roast chicken. She said: "In the evenings she indulges her hobby of cooking William's favourite supper, roast chicken."

In cases where both don't feel like cooking, they've been known to enjoy takeaways. William even confessed during the BBC documentary, Football, Prince William and Our Mental Health, broadcasted in May 2020, that he's partial to Nando's. He said: "Everyone loves a Nando's. In fact, the policeman who's on with me again [today], he's the one who gets me the Nando's the whole time. It's his fault."

Snacks

During his visit to Newquay, Prince William admitted indulging in "a chocolate brownie and a glass of red wine", seemingly making up for the disappointment of a "rubbish sandwich" with the comforting snack. He detailed his treat which consisted of banana and chocolate brownies and explained that he supplemented it with two or three cups of coffee for added energy.

As a child, sausage rolls were a favourite of William's. Former royal chef Darren would prepare this snack for him and his younger brother Harry to enjoy after school with mashed potatoes, baked beans, and a spot of ketchup.
