Inside LA mansion where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will celebrate second anniversary
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating their two year wedding anniversary in Los Angeles, where they have been living for several weeks, after leaving the senior royal roles.
The couple are understood to be staying at producer Tyler Perry’s home in the Beverly Ridge estate gated community.
Perry, 50, is a writer and director known for TV shows including the Haves and Have Nots, and Sistas.
It’s thought the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could have been put in touch with the director via their mutual friend Oprah.
The talk show host has known Perry for several years, and is godmother to his son Aman.
Harry and Meghan arrived in Los Angeles just before the border between the US and Canada, where they had been staying since November, closed to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
A scroll through Perry’s Instagram shows the type of luxury they could be living in now.
Perry’s mansion is believed to have eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. It backs onto a hiking trail which has recently been reopened by the Parks and Recreation department in Los Angeles, leading to the royal couple deciding to put up screens to protect their privacy.

In October last year, Perry shared a video which he said was filmed “inside my house” as he invited people to live tweet along to two of his shows, The Oval and Sistas.
In another video filmed in September 2017, he gave fans a glimpse into his kitchen, which boasts a large cooker and plenty of workspace for preparing dinner.
It could be that Meghan will choose to cook something special here to mark their anniversary, having previously shared her cooking tips on her lifestyle blog, The Tig.
Judging by Perry’s previous posts, it could be helpful to have a keen cook on hand - he once shared that he had no idea how to use his oven, because he so rarely made himself dinner.
The house has also got plenty of space for the couple to work, though they will be taking the day off on Tuesday.
Perry shared another video from inside his study which showed a grand library behind him.
After his birthday in 2014, he shared a picture of all his gifts which were laid out on his desk. Dark wood shelving can be seen in the background, as well as a large fireplace.
He appears to have a luxurious leather chair to sit at while he works. Perhaps this space is being borrowed by the royal couple as they put together their work on Archewell.

Perry’s son Aman was born five years ago and has some very famous godparents.
Oprah was pictured at Perry’s house for Aman’s christening back in February 2015. In a picture taken by a huge pool, the talk show host gestures to some giant blocks which spell out Aman.
Perry said: “What a special day. Thank you Oprah, Oliver, and Cicely. I know my son has great Godparents. To be born in love is a beautiful thing.”
While it’s not known if Oprah is Archie’s godmother, she did bestow on him the unique gift she gives all her friends when they have children.
Oprah gave Archie a collection of books, labelled with ‘Archie’s book club’.
The label was spotted by eagle eyed fans as Meghan read to her son for his first birthday, in a special video released in conjunction with Save the Children UK.

Perry’s celebrity connections don’t end there. He also revealed Stevie Wonder played for his friends at a party held for his 45th birthday.
The director said: “I had to pinch myself.”
The photo, which appears to have been taken from some kind of internal balcony or stairway, looking down into the living area, shows the scale of the house.
Perry has a grand piano as well as some grand artwork.
Perry’s house back onto some hiking trails which go through Beverly Hills. He confirmed the location when he shared a picture of emergency vehicles parked on his drive as they tried to find a lost hiker.
He praised the workers, saying “Beverly Hills’ finest were amazing”.

Other snapshots of the LA home show a huge Christmas tree in a living rooms, which he joked he put up just after Thanksgiving, which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.
He asked fans if it was too soon to get the tree up.
He’s also shown a sunken bath in one of his many bathrooms, surrounded by pillars and accessed via double doors.
And Perry’s back deck is a grand space with amazing views over Los Angeles.
Harry and Meghan are said to have decided not to work on their anniversary, spending the day with their son Archie.
A source told Harper’s Bazaar: “The day will simply be quality time with one another and as a family.
“They're not going to be doing any work and made sure they have no meetings or calls in the diary.”
Harry and Meghan married on 19 May, 2018 in a star studded ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
They decided to step back as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020 but have not been able to launch their new non-profit because of the global pandemic.
