Indonesia Issues Tsunami Alert Following Volcano Eruption

On April 17, hundreds of villagers on Ruang Island, North Sulawesi, were ordered to evacuate by Indonesian authorities. Since the night of April 16, a 2,400-foot volcano known as Mount Ruang "erupted at least five times," CNN reports . Authorities fear that Mount Ruang could collapse into the ocean and trigger a tsunami, just like it did in 1871.
