I'm A Celeb's Declan Donnelly left 'in tears' after jungle joke goes wrong

I’m A Celebrity presenter Declan Donnelly had a bit of a blunder on I'm A Celeb Unpacked, leaving him in stitches. During the show's spin-off segment, host Joel Dommett asked Ant and Dec how this series differs from the first season 20 years ago. Ant started by pointing out the location change, saying: “Well it wasn't here it was up in Northern Australia near Cairns so it was a lot hotter.” Dec then made an unfortunate comment, saying: “And it was really thick bush”. The presenter quickly realised his mistake and corrected himself, saying: “Thick jungle, thick jungle,” while Joel joked: “That's all we have time for.” Ant couldn't resist teasing his co-host, repeating: “Yeah yeah it was thick, thick bush.”

Joined by Sam Thompson and Kemi Rodgers, Ant apologised to Kemi, who joked: “Don't worry, it has just reminded me to get a wax when I get home.” An embarrassed Dec apologised to the cameras as they wrapped up their segment. Jane Moore was the first contestant to be voted off this year’s I'm A Celeb and she didn't hold back in her exit interview, saying: “hard work does not get rewarded”. The Loose Women star, 63, has been embroiled in controversy during her time on the show. Jane found herself embroiled in a row over 'ageism' and 'sexism' after being tasked with the camp's washing up duties.

She pointed fingers at former boxing champ, Barry McGuigan, and McFly's Danny Jones, accusing them of ageism and sexism for assigning her the role due to her being an older woman.

On her exit, she revealed her frustration to Ant and Dec, saying: “I had three jobs before then, I worked like a dog and then they gave me the washing up so I wasn't pleased about that. I did a lot down there but hard work doesn't pay off as I'm the first one out, people don't notice hard work”.

She also issued a warning to the remaining campmates, stating: “The more people get voted off, it will get apparent who isn't doing that much. I would like to see the quiet hard workers win, there's a lot of showmen in there. I want Coleen [Rooney] or Melvin [Odoom] to win, they're not flamboyant.”

Reflecting on her jungle experience, she said: “I have lived it and it's just such a weird and magical experience. People always say it's the best experience of your life, wouldn't say that with the rain. Never been so soaked in my life, constantly”.

“At least there's no more washing up, I'm never washing up again. I enjoyed getting to know the others and ask them questions. We've all got each other's back. Them getting to know me was great too, because I'm a journalist they were initially like, "hang on what's this going to be like?”’ 'A lot of them said they talked about things with me they haven't for years and they felt better for it”.
