I'm A Celeb stars land roles in Netflix thriller Missing You in surprise crossover
Two stars who have appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here both have roles in the new Netflix thriller series Missing You, which is based on the Harlan Coben bestseller. GK Barry, who recently left the Australian jungle, plays Vanessa in the series, while former King of the Jungle, Matt Willis, has a cameo role as a character named Darryl.
Missing You is the latest Netflix series to be based on a Harlan Coben book, following on from the hugely successful Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan, that dropped on the streaming service on 1 January 2024. Other successful Netflix adaptations of his thrillers include Stay Close, starring James Nesbitt and Cush Jumbo, The Stranger with Richard Armitage, and the Barcelona-set Spanish language series The Innocent.
Missing You tells the story of DI Kat Donovan, played by Rosalind Eleazar, who has rebuilt her life after her fiance Josh disappeared eleven years ago. However, while swiping through profiles on a dating app, she sees his face and his reappearance forces her to dive back into the mysteries of her own past, including her father’s murder.

The cast for the series also includes Sir Lenny Henry, Ashley Walters as Josh, Steve Pemberton, Richard Armitage and James Nesbitt.
In an interview with the press before the series launches on New Year’s Day, Slow Horses star Rosalind Eleazar said she was thrilled for Harlan Coben fans to see the series. “Both Slow Horses and Missing You have come from brilliant source material,” she said.
“You know, these books are really good, and a lot of people who came to Slow Horses [found it] because they already loved the books, and it's the same with Harlan Coben. So, yeah, I'm excited."
In an interview with Netflix, her co-star, Inside No 9’s Steve Pemberton, teased what his role is in the series. He plays a dog breeder called Titus Monroe, and Steve explained: “We see that he is very meticulous in getting his precious dogs into good homes. He will go to any lengths to make sure the prospective purchasers and owners of these dogs are up to his standards. He cares very much more about the dogs than he does about the people.
“However, the dog-breeding farm that he owns has an underlying more sinister purpose, and it’s very dark and brutal what he is doing. Titus is ice-cold with people; that was nice to underplay. I didn’t want to play anything cartoonish or comic, especially given my background. I hope I fit into the story nicely and people are chilled by him."
