I'm A Celeb launch will be 'most competitive yet' as ITV announce huge shake-up

The countdown is officially on for the new series of ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! which is set to hit TV screens this weekend.

On Sunday night, a fresh batch of celebs will bid farewell to their glamorous lifestyles as they head down under to the I'm a Celebrity jungle. However, it won't be an easy start for them as the celebs will need to bring their A-game from the get-go.

ITV has teased that the launch of this series will be the 'most competitive' yet as they'll have to all pair up.

Once in their pairs, they'll face a series of challenges, competing against their fellow campmates to cross the finish line first.

Along the journey, the celebrity duos will have chances to overtake and battle to the end. The victorious pair will enjoy special privileges and a smoother transition into jungle life.

Not only will they become the first camp leaders, but the two winners will also be exempt from chores. They'll also get to sleep in the Leaders' lodge and run the camp exactly how they please.

Inside the plush lodge, the campmates will find two comfy beds with mattresses, protection from the rain and a good night's sleep with luxurious duvets and pillows.

ITV viewers might spot something different this year - the infamous camp leader chair has had a makeover. Instead of one throne, there will now be two red leatherbound seats for the two equal leaders of the camp.

The camp leaders will have a busy time ahead as they must ensure everyone sticks to their chores while ruling the roost in the Australian jungle, however, there's a juicy twist on the horizon.

ITV has given a heads-up about a secret game-changer planned for the campmates that's sure to stir up drama. This mystery twist holds the key to granting unprecedented levels of influence and perks for the leaders, ramping up the excitement factor.

This year's line-up includes the likes of Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall, Jane Moore, Dean McCullough, Tulisa Contostavlos, and Melvin Odoom.

Also heading to the Australian jungle is Coleen Rooney, boxing legend Barry McGuigan, Grace 'GK' Barry, and pop-rock sensation Danny Jones.

Even though the show is yet to air, the bets are rolling in hot for who'll claim the jungle throne. McFly heartthrob and The Voice coach Danny Jones is already tipped to win, with top-notch odds of 9/4.

Ladbrokes' Nicola McGeady commented: "Danny Jones is completely dominating the jungle betting before an episode has even been aired. Punters are confident that he will shine in the camp, with almost half of bets going in his favour."

Yet nipping at Danny's heels is Corrie's very own Alan Halsall, sitting pretty with 5/1 odds, while Loose Women's GK Barry has bagged herself a solid 6/1 chance.

But not everyone can be a frontrunner Jane Moore might just be packing her bags first, with long-shot odds of 33/1 for the win.

I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! kicks off on Sunday 17th November at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
