Ikea gave people the chance to create their own sofa and the internet went crazy
Ikea has given its customers the chance to design their sofas - and the results are pretty eye-catching.
The Swedish furniture store created an online tool to help people customise their own settee, taking in details from the size and shape to the number of headrests.
The results are an impressive array of extravagant furniture.
Customers seemed to experiment with providing seating for a small army - though not in the most practical of arrangements.
One of the simplest versions is a long straight seat with plenty of room for a few families on it.
Other customers were a little more creative, with some intricate seating patterns more reminiscent of a labyrinth than lounge furniture.
One creative customer managed to write ‘couch’ with their creation, which the online tool estimated would cost nearly $20,000.
Another expensive experiment came up with a price tag of just over 14 million Korean Won.
And other customers eschewed armrests and headrests to come up with a more simple settee creation.
