Editors' Picks are the Fashionista team's true (#notspon) fashion and beauty obsessions, handpicked by professionals who see it all.

I'm an eyewear loyalist. I've remained devoted to the same pair of Le Specs sunglasses for years. (I own them in three colorways.) But I've been prepping for my spring and summer travels, and I got the itch to expand my sunglasses wardrobe — I don't wear actual glasses, so protective eyewear is my only time to dabble — and came upon these stainless steel, gold-toned frames by Barcelona-based brand Meller.

I love aviators, but, unfortunately, with my strong facial features, they never quite look right on me. This simpler style is a perfect alternative: The rounded rectangle lenses are a tad smaller, which better suits my face, and though there's a definite '90s/2000s throwback bent to them, they feel pretty timeless.

Then, there's the quality — simply put, these sunglasses are so well made. I've tried plenty of far more expensive metal eyewear, and these are absolutely on par with, if not superior to, those styles. I'd honestly never guess that they cost less than $60.

The brand uses polarized lenses with an anti-scratch and "superhydrophobic" coating to protect them, and, given that I'm the clumsiest person ever and promptly dropped mine on a concrete sidewalk the first time I wore them, I readily put that to the test. Much to my shock, they didn't pick up a single nick or scratch. Still, Meller stands behind its quality, offering a two-year warranty on its frames — not bad for $59, less than most of my last few Uber trips. (Ugh, New York City surge pricing is out of control.)
