Hunter Schafer Is an Ethereal Vision in a Translucent Gown at the 2024 Golden Globes
Hunter Schafer just brought her inimitable red-carpet style to the 81st Golden Globes.
The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes star, who is among tonight’s presenters, arrived at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles looking ethereal in a white see-through gown with translucent tendrils of gauzy fabric trailing behind her in a dramatic train. Underneath the wispy dress is a plain white sheath slip, which she color-coordinated with white pointed-toe pumps.
While Schafer isn’t among tonight’s nominees, the actor still has plenty to celebrate with the success of her latest film, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The prequel follows the rise of the original trilogy’s central antagonist, Coriolanus Snow, and features acclaimed performances from Schafer and costars Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Viola Davis, and Peter Dinklage.
Throughout the film’s press tour, Schafer—who plays Tigris Snow, Coriolanus’s older cousin—leaned into her character’s Capitol roots with a slew of experimental and boundary-pushing outfits. This included a painted midi dress from Schiaparelli’s Fall/Winter 2023 haute couture collection, a crinkled gold set inspired by a similar look seen on Prada’s Spring/Summer 2009 runway, and a joyful Marni minidress entirely covered in vibrant pink 3-D flowers.
Though the Euphoria star may be known for her ability to turn heads on the red carpet, her everyday style is notably much more muted. Last November, she explained the motivations behind her off-duty style for Bazaar's 24 Hours With series.
“When I get dressed for a day off, I try and put in as little thought as possible. That means jeans, a T-shirt, and boots,” she said. “I’m a boot girl. Even if it’s hot, I don’t care. It’s for fashion.”
