Hugh Grant on Filming 'Wonka': "Couldn’t Have Hated the Whole Thing More"

Today in Hugh Grant Is Surprisingly Salty, he fully unloaded about his time on the set of Wonka, which appears to have been a less than ideal experience.

Hugh—who plays an Oompa Loompa named Lofty in the film—told press including Metro that the experience was "drivel." And he seems to have specifically taken issue with having cameras on his face, which he described like so:

Meanwhile, Hugh is also reported as having said "I did not know where I was, what was happening," which, same.

Apparently, Hugh was confused as to whether he was meant to "act with my body or not," and "never received a satisfactory answer." He added that "frankly, what I did with my body was terrible, and it’s all been replaced with an animator."

Hugh then said the final product was "not really" worth it, and that the dancing "should be fun, but that was done by the animator."

"It’s very confusing, with CGI now, you can’t tell what’s going on," he mused, later adding "I slightly hate [making films] but I have lots of children and need money."

Absolutely incredible. Nothing to add here except maybe this video of Hugh announcing that he looked like a cigarette during a chat with Access Hollywood.
