Who are House of the Dragon characters Addam and Alyn of Hull?

Three episodes into House of the Dragon, and we've already been introduced to a whole host of new characters. From Queen Alicent's brother Ser Gwayne Hightower, to the mysterious Alys Rivers, to our first sighting of a Stark in the shape of Lord Cregan Stark. But arguably one set of characters who have intrigued us the most are Addam and Alyn of Hull.
We're first introduced to Alyn in episode one of the new series, where we're told he saved Lord Coryls Velaryon's life during the Stepstones. And in episode two we met Addam, who later watches the dragon Seasmoke from the beach.
Are these two just sailors close to Lord Velaryon, or is there something more at play? Read on for some more information about these two, and be warned, this includes some serious book spoilers.
Who are Addam and Alyn of Hull?
As mentioned earlier Addam and Alyn are both sailors and were born and grew up on a town in Driftmark called Hull.
Now, be prepared for some spoilers. In the book Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin which House of the Dragon is based on, Addam and Alyn are discovered to be Velaryon bastards, either the sons of Corlys or Laenor.
Given that in the TV series Laenor is revealed to be gay, and looks to be a similar age to Addam and Alyn, it's likely the show is going in the direction of the pair being Corlys' sons. Yep, turns out Corlys and Rhaenys aren't the cutest couple in Westeros anymore.
If Addam and Alyn are Corlys' children then this serious implications for the rest of the series.
In Fire & Blood Rhaenyra's son Jacaerys decides they need more dragonriders to ride the unclaimed dragons to help them win the war against Aegon. A number of people from Driftmark try and win the dragons favour.
Addam ends up bonding with Seasmoke and rides him. Alyn is however less fortunate, and ends up trying to ride the wild dragon Sheepstealer to little success.
After Addam secures his dragon, Corlys petitions for the boys to be legitimised, and Addam became Corlys' heir to Driftmark.
But this is not to say this is how the show will portray the storyline, guess we'll just have to watch the rest of the season to find out.
