Jeremy Meeks, aka ‘Hot Mugshot Guy’, has certainly come a long way. The felon, who became famous when his mugshot went viral in 2014, has turned his attention to modelling in the past few years and secured his status as ‘one to watch’ by walking in Philipp Plein’s Milan Fashion Week show on 17 June.

Needless to say, all eyes were on Meeks – rather than the clothes, or lack thereof, he modelled.

This wasn’t Meeks’ first catwalk appearance. The 33-year-old made his catwalk debut for Philipp Plein at New York Fashion Week in February, and clearly impressed – as he was booked for the Plein’s Resort show in Cannes last month, and again for Milan this season.

Meeks’ mugshot racked up more than 80,000 likes when it was posted on the Stockton Police Department Facebook page three years ago.

His chiselled good looks had people seriously swooning: some Photoshopped his mugshot onto high fashion campaigns, while others offered him jobs in the fashion industry – which he couldn’t exactly take at the time, as he was behind bars (after being sentenced for possession of a firearm).

When he was released from prison in March last year, Meeks’ signed a lucrative modelling contract with White Cross Management – who also discovered Victoria’s Secret model Taylor Hill.

Meeks landed his first editorial in April – with British magazine Man About Town – but sadly had to cancel his other mag appearances here in Blighty as UK immigration officers refused to let him in the country.
