Hollywood hunk looks unrecognisable with bushy beard, tiny shorts and long hair

Star Trek actor Chris Pine was barely recognisable as he turned up to his latest movie premiere sporting long blonde locks and donning a pair of cheeky shorts. The Hollywood heartthrob has undergone a dramatic transformation for his role in the upcoming film, Poolman.

Stepping onto the green carpet, Chris fully embraced his character Darren Barrenman, the quirky owner of Awesome Aquatics pool-cleaning service. He strutted his stuff in eye-catching tiny blue shorts, paired with a casual cream tee boasting an 'I Heart LA' motif.

The look was completed with a peach blazer, adorned with a striking pink flower on the lapel, white socks and boots featuring red laces. Chris posed confidently, hands on hips, with reflective orange sunglasses perched on his head, his new blonde mane cascading down past his shoulders, and a distinctive grey beard giving him a whole new vibe.

Making a grand entrance, Chris pulled up in a van decked out with his character's business branding, complete with the slogan "Love's alive in Los Angeles" emblazoned on the side. The van was kitted out with a roof-rack, adding to the authentic feel of his character's lifestyle.

In Poolman, Chris stars alongside the likes of Danny DeVito and Jennifer Jason Leigh, reports the Daily Star.

The official synopsis for Poolman teases: "Darren Barrenman is an unwavering optimist and native Angeleno who spends his days looking after the pool of the Tahitian Tiki apartment block and fighting to make his hometown a better place to live."

Darren finds himself embroiled in the "greatest water heist in LA history since Chinatown."

He's forced to team up with a "beautiful femme fatale" while dealing with "corrupt city officials, burned out Hollywood types, and mysterious benefactors".

He previously swapped his longer locks for a buzz cut after a comment from his publicist left him stunned. The Don't Worry Darling star confessed to Esquire: "I thought I was looking pretty, pretty fly, the hair was long, everything was happening, and my publicist said I looked like Rachel from Friends.

"I couldn't unhear it. And it was the first day and my first time in Venice... It was a long flight to Italy. I was so jet-lagged and then you get thrown into a press conference where you get to talk about a film you made five and a half years ago.

"I was just tired, frankly".
