Last night images were released of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arriving at Lambrook School in Berkshire with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis ahead of their first day at their new school.
While the children all wore blue school uniform, and William a co-ordinating navy suit, Kate stood out in a copper polka dot shirt dress by trendy London-based brand Rixo.
Unsurprisingly, the autumnal hued dress, which retails for £245, has already sold out online.
Even before its royal debut, the dress had already created quite a buzz, as it was worn by none other than Holly Willoughby on This Morning back in January.
Whether it be ‘the Kate effect’, or that auburn polka dots are becoming a notable rising dress trend, Willoughby donned another very similar button-down polka dot dress in a slightly darker bordeaux shade on This Morning on Thursday.
With its flattering A-line silhouette and addition of faux pearl buttons, we’re sure Willoughby’s latest dress would be Kate-approved. The best bit? It’s much more affordable than the Duchess’, retailing for just £89.
The dress by Finery comes in two colours, navy and Willoughby’s dark red and is available to purchase online at John Lewis in sizes 8 to 20.
Although we’re sure now that two of Britain’s biggest style icons have worn similar polka dot styles in the past 24 hours the dress won't be in stock for long.
