Holly Hagan, famed for her opening introduction on Geordie Shore where she uttered the phrase ‘fit and flirty and has double F’s’, has recently opened up about how much she regrets going under the knife.

On her exclusive blog ‘House of Holly’, the reality TV star posted a 20-minute read titled “Boob jobs, BBL, eating disorders and finally finding my soulmate”. The second post on her website has since garnered a lot of attention as she is one of many stars who has gotten candid about their cosmetic surgery regrets.

Hagan reveals that she took inspiration from fellow reality tv star Katie Price and recounts spending £30,000 on procedures alone. Hagan underwent her first procedure at the age of 18 and has only now, in her early 30s, come to fully understand the impact that society’s impossible body standards have had on her. Overall, Hagan has had 3 BBLs (all within the span of a few months), a boob job, Botox and lip filler. In 2019, Hagan had her final procedure, a breast reduction to a DD cup from her previous FFs.

This isn’t the first time the celebrity has spoken out about her procedures or her body image struggles. While starring in the reality tv reunion show Geordie OGs, Hagan discussed her first untouched photoshoot with a magazine. Hagan admitted that she did certain glamorous photoshoots because she knew that she would be edited to look better and that those experiences were simultaneously damaging her personal idea of what she looked like.

She also revealed that her biggest regret in life was getting surgery, 'I would sit at night and be like, well I’m thousands of pounds down, I look ten times worse than I did to begin with because that to me is not an ass you would pay for.' She broke down and spoke about how much the online bullying surrounding her dress size, her cellulite or her looks affected her.

In 2022, Hagan took to her Instagram to talk about her experience with surgeries. 'I have always just said surgery generically because I never wanted anyone to go and copy what I did and be left unhappy, especially after learning how dangerous the procedure actually is. As much as I tried to hide it, it was pretty noticeable and instead, the comments just went from “fat slag” to “too much surgery she looked better before” overnight.'

She went on to say that surgeries will not solve problems that people face with food and further concluded that there is no way that she will undergo more surgeries to fix the surgical mistakes of the past. Instead claiming that she will focus on the body she has and the healthy, balanced, non-restrictive lifestyle that she has achieved.

Hagan made a conscious decision to achieve her body goals in a healthier manner. Working with a trainer, attending exercise classes and completing a course in nutrition has led to Hagan gaining confidence about her body. She is currently in a better mental space and is expecting her first child with her footballer husband Jacob Blyth.

There have been a noticeable amount of female celebrities who have dissolved their fillers, undergone reductions and are focussing on embracing their natural body. Kudos to Hagan for opening up and to all the women who are sharing their struggles with body image and promoting feeling beautiful as is.
