Hilary Duff's honest post about her 'hard as hell' pregnancy is resonating with moms

Hilary Duff is getting real about how her body is changing with baby no. 2.

Alongside a photo of her growing baby bump in a bathing suit, the 30-year-old star gave an update on her pregnancy.

“The boobs are big, the belly is big, the body is big. Man, pregnancy is hard. Giving love to all mamas who make it look effortless. This journey is hard as hell and also incredibly special. Lovely to have a little life inside and to day dream of all the new adventures to come but almost impossible to get my own shoes on,” she wrote. “Sick of getting up nine times a night to pee, and looking at this weird body in the mirror that is not my own at the moment. Women are so bad ass, this was just a note to remind myself and remind others how strong and beautiful you are! WE GOT THIS!”

The honest post resounded with her followers, with more than 900,000 likes and 8,000 comments less than 24 hours after being posted. Moms around the world agreed with Duff, and thanked her for being so candid.

“You look good and it is special! I love my little girl more than anything in the world. I didn’t struggle with the way I looked while pregnant because all I could think about was my little girl inside my belly. You are a wonderful mother already — this is the beginning of a special journey for you and baby. Congrats!” commented one follower.

“Needed to see this post today. I’m starting to get uncomfortable and it’s nice to know I’m not alone! You are truly inspirational and honestly have helped me with getting through this pregnancy in so many little but amazing ways,” added another.

This isn’t the first time Duff has opened up about her body since becoming a mom. Last summer she showed off her “flaws” and told shamers to “kiss [her] ass” — and in 2015, she posted an empowering mirror shot, telling moms everywhere that “we still got it.”

In June, the “Younger” star announced she was expecting with boyfriend Matthew Kom. This will be Duff’s second child — she’s also mom to six-year-old Luca, who she had with ex-husband Mike Comrie. Duff joked on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” that Luca wasn’t originally very excited when she told him he was going to be a big brother — but she’s since decided to offer some help with baby names.

“Luca thinks ‘Confant Croissant’ is like, the coolest name,” she said. “There would be no confusion. And when I just refer to it as ‘Confant’ and I’m like, ‘That would be so cool, no one at school’s going to be named Confant,’ he’s like, ‘Croissant. Confant Croissant.’ It goes together. There’s no separating the two.”

Whether the new baby is named Confant Croissant or not, we can’t wait to see Duff’s newest addition!
