High street giant closes Leeds city centre store

Poundland in Leeds city centre, at The Core, has closed — -Credit:Reach Publishing Services Limited

A high street giant has closed their Leeds city centre store.

This comes as part of the ongoing long-term changes at The Core. We’ve seen the Poundland shop, based there, shut.

We’ve seen hoardings up in the window of the unit, based in Lands Lane, informing customers of its closure. The signage reads: “Sorry. We have closed.”

Thankfully, there is another Poundland shop based at St Johns Shopping Centre. As always, we’ll bring you details of new openings and closures in Leeds city centre.

LONDON (Reuters) -Sainsbury's, Britain's second biggest supermarket group, is on track to deliver full-year profit growth of around 7%, it said on Friday, after robust food sales over the Christmas quarter offset weakness in general merchandise.
