Sometimes the best party decorations are retro ones – and a paper chain is no exception!

Making a paper chain is a great craft activity to decorate your home for a party, and so simple to do. Follow our step-by-step instructions to learn how to make a paper chain. It's so easy to do and makes a brilliant decorative addition to any celebration!

This is a great craft to do with children – especially to get them involved in making decorations for their birthday party. Just be sure to oversee little ones using scissors, or perhaps cut out the paper strips before your crafting session.

You'll probably already have everything you need to make a paper chain lying around your home, so it's a great craft to do on a budget. If you don't have glue dots, you could use a stapler instead to fasten the links on your chain. If you're using a stapler, make sure to oversee children.

We've used patterned paper for our paper chain, but you can use any paper you like to match the theme of your party.

Happy crafting!
